
MATT COOK
An award-winning composer, Matt Cook lives by the motto: “Live great stories; tell great stories.” Based in Los Angeles, Cook tells his stories through music, writing, magic, and numbers. He is known for a symphonic style that awakens a spirit of wonder and adventure; his music has reached over 130 countries. His major works include the BRAVESHIP SUITE and the DUSTFOLK SUITE.
Outside of music, Dr. Cook is an economist, Los Angeles Times bestselling author, and executive film producer based in Los Angeles. Drawing from experience in over 185 countries, he enjoys infusing his creations with international intrigue and a sense of adventure. As a close-up magician trained at the Magic Castle, he has performed in Hollywood and across the globe, from remote Maasai bomas in Tanzania to gypsy villages in Romania. He often weaves sleight of hand into his talks and lectures. For his support of the military, Dr. Cook was personally honored by President George W. Bush with the Presidential Call to Service Award.
His novel MR. 2, hailed as a “masterwork of storytelling” by Dirk Cussler, is now in development at Sony Television. His other novels include SABOTAGE, GOOD LITTLE MARAUDER, the forthcoming BRAVESHIP, and more. His nonfiction includes SLEIGHT OF MIND, THE STARTUP STAR, and more. Matt was educated at Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of his creative work, Matt is also a PADI divemaster and pilot of land and sea planes.
