NOTES ON THE ALBUM

“LOST” reflects both the tragic history of Ullmann, Krása, and Schulhoff, and our own personal journey with their music.

While working on these pieces, we often felt “lost” in a creative sense—searching for the right tempo, sound, and emotional depth, especially since the scores leave so much open. This uncertainty pushed us to explore more freely and to take risks, finding a more vulnerable and honest way of performing.

 

At the same time, engaging with this music created a strong emotional connection. The intensity and individuality of each composer made a deep impression on us, despite their very different musical languages. Knowing the circumstances in which these works were written added another layer of responsibility: we wanted to treat them with care and bring their voices back to life.

 

The recording process itself, with its long and focused studio time, allowed us to experiment and grow into the music. In the end, “LOST” became not only a reflection on history, but also a deeply personal artistic experience.
