The Cuban Art Song Project (CASP) is a musical group that presents underperformed Cuban art song, zarzuela, and popular music. Its core members include founder, soprano Isabella Lamadriz, and pianist, conductor, and arranger Pablo Zinger. In the past two years, CASP has given concerts throughout the United States and has recorded a studio album of Ernesto Lecuona's songs with arrangements by Pablo and featuring some of the most well-known and respected Latin musicians in New York City, recorded by Grammy nominated engineer, MP Kuo.
Cuban American soprano, Isabella Lamadriz has appeared in operatic and concert venues across the US and Europe. After receiving her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Voice Performance from the Boston Conservatory, Isabella moved to New York City to embark on a career as a dramatic coloratura soprano, singing some of the most vocally demanding roles in the operatic canon. As a concert soloist, she has performed in venues as varied as the 92nd Street Y in New York and the Cranbrook Art Museum in Detroit. She also appears regularly as a bass player with Latin Jazz and Rock ensembles and sings and plays bass with The Opera Cowgirls. She founded the Cuban Art Song Project in 2023 through her collaboration with Latin music maestro, Pablo Zinger.
